Places to Visit - Cleopatra Island

Cleopatra Island (Sedir Island ) is only half an hour from Marmaris by boat. By legend it is the place where Cleopatra met Marc Anthony. They are said to have swum together in the clear waters.
The island has fantastic beaches and scenery. Inland lies the little village of Gokoval.
The sand is of such a fine quality it has to be felt to be believed. Legend has it that the sand was brought to the Island from the Red Sea to please Cleopatra. The sand is regarded as so special, it is an offence to take any of it away from the Island.
Many visitors staying in Marmaris regularly take the short boat ride to Cleopatra Island, to spend the day on the wonderful beach and enjoy the seafood restaurants.
