Places to Visit - Marmaris Castle

One of the most ancient structures in Marmaris is the Castle, which legend say was originally built by the Egyptians many thousands of years ago, and rebuilt by Alexander the Great. Suleiman the Magnificent later rebuilt the Castle again, and used it in 1522 in his attempted conquest of Rhodes.
The castle has undergone a long process of restoration over the last thirty years, which is still ongoing, and is now a museum.
